Here is important information Drive and Shine wants you to have as well as some of our most asked questions.
What areas do you service?
Currently, we offer door-to-door service anywhere in Flagler County and Saint Augustine as well as to the cities of Ormond Beach, Holly Hill, and Daytona Beach. If you are out of our door-to-door service area, don't worry! Give us a call to find out more.
Do you offer certificates for an insurance discount?
When a student has completed a plan of at least 6 hours (or 3 lessons) with us, they can request a certificate from Drive and Shine to present to their car insurance policyholder. (We cannot guarantee that your insurance will honor the certificate, though most do). To request a certificate, please email us at driveandshineschool@gmail.com or call/text us at 386.264.3996.
What can I expect from lessons?
*Each lesson is 2 hours in length. (Drivers will return the student home the last 15 minutes of the lesson. This is to go over and complete the assessment.)
*We offer door-to-door service for those in the areas we service. Your driver will pick you up and drop you off at your predetermined location (usually your home address).
*If you reside outside of our service area, you will have to meet your driver within our service area using a pickup address confirmed in while booking the lessons.
*At the end of every lesson, the student will receive a lesson assessment that they take with them. It shows what skills were taught and practiced during the lesson, the skills they are mastering, and the skills that need more attention.
*If a parent wants to go over the assessment, please make sure to be ready when the car pulls up to be present as the instructor goes over the assessment.
What if the student cannot do 2-hour long lessons?
Sometimes extenuating circumstances (for example your health) make a 2-hour lesson unmanageable. Please call us at 386-264-3996 and we will help you secure a lesson package that fits your needs.
Can I purchase lessons directly from your site?
Yes! Open Plans & Pricing to compare packages and purchase your plan. Then select Book Lessons to schedule online in Flagler County, St. Augustine, Ormond Beach, Holly Hill and Daytona Beach.
What happens after I select my plan?
You will be brought to a sign-up/log-in page. Follow the prompts to create an account with us and purchase your plan. Then you will want to schedule all of your lessons included with your plan.
How do I schedule lessons?
Book regular driving lessons online in all our service areas, including St. Augustine and Volusia County.
1. Open Book Lessons and sign in to the account used to purchase your package.
2. Enter and confirm your pickup address.
3. Choose an available date, instructor and lesson time.
4. Review the details and confirm your lesson. Each confirmed lesson uses one available package credit.
5. Repeat to book additional lessons.
***Road Test Review and Transportation is the exception: it starts at 8 AM only. Call 386.264.3996 to book that service.
How do I return to book my remaining lessons?
Open Book Lessons and sign in with the account used to purchase your plan. Your available lesson credits and upcoming lessons appear there. Confirm your pickup address and choose another available lesson time. You can also manage upcoming lessons there. Cancellations and rescheduling are subject to our Lesson Policy. Can I book my lessons close together or far apart? Choose from the available times shown and keep your package expiration date in mind. We recommend no more than two lessons per week and at least 48 hours between lessons.
